The official language of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Kazakh language, that is a part of the Kipchak group of the Turkic languages (kindred languages are, for instance, Tatar, Bashkir and Karakalpak languages; there are some parallels with the Turkish language).
Russian language is widely spread almost in all regions along with the Kazakh, it also possesses the status of the language of interethnic communication.
Knowledge of English can be mostly expected from the young people and only in big cities. Other languages are not popular.
